Harrisburg, PA − April 11, 2025 − This week, the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency announced a Community Revitalization Fund Program (CRFP) grant in the amount of $500,000 for Wildheart Ministries to expand affordable housing and revitalize a prominent block in Allison Hill.

The project, known as “The Gateway,” is located at the corner of South 13th and Market Streets in the City of Harrisburg and involves the new construction of housing units and commercial space on previously blighted and vacant land. The project represents a $3.4 million investment in the Allison Hill community.

“The need for new affordable housing across our district has reached critical mass,” said State Senator Patty Kim. “Just as important is the need to revitalize our underserved neighborhoods that need investment, stable housing, and commercial opportunities. My goal is to steer state resources to our district and deliver for important communities like Allison Hill. I’m grateful for the collaboration between PHFA and Wildheart Ministries to do just that.”

“We are honored and thrilled to have the support of PHFA, Senator Patty Kim and especially our neighbors for our upcoming mixed-use development within Allison Hill,” said Tannon Herman, Executive Director of Wildheart. “The Gateway will meet a critical need for accessible and affordable homeownership within our community as well as serve to bridge the greater Harrisburg community together by offering services to all through the commercial opportunities it will provide. This project continues to be a symbol of the power of togetherness and what can be achieved when multiple sectors work in harmony for the greater good. We look forward to serving our neighbors in their journey of transforming these spaces into a place called “home!”
