HARRISBURG, PA November 12, 2025 − On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, the Senate of Pennsylvania passed the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 budget. Senator Patty Kim commented on the newly passed state budget:

“The budget that passed today is a compromise that I supported because it’s balanced, contains no tax increases, and makes meaningful investments in our communities and working families.

This budget invests in several of my priorities including increased funding to our district’s public schools, investments in childcare worker retention to keep teachers in preschools, increasing support for direct care workers, investments in economic development and jobs, and a new earned income tax credit for working families—all without a tax increase.

It is my hope that the spirit of compromise displayed today will carry over into next year’s budget so we are not in this same position in 2026.”
